Singapore presents a unique photographic challenge: capturing a metropolis that is simultaneously a concrete jungle and a lush rainforest. This series focuses on the city-state’s architectural evolution, documenting how modern engineering coexists with aggressive urban greening initiatives.
The Approach
We focused on three key visual pillars:
- The Garden City: Capturing the surreal scale of the Gardens by the Bay and the Supertree Grove, emphasizing the organic curves against the rigid skyline.
- Geometric Repetition: Utilizing the repeating patterns of the Marina Bay Sands hotel balconies and the Singapore Flyer structure to create abstract architectural studies.
- Luminosity: Singapore comes alive at night. We used long-exposure techniques to capture the movement of the Spectra light and water show, turning laser beams and fountains into fluid, painterly elements against the dark sky.
The Result
A vibrant collection of travel imagery that moves beyond standard tourist snapshots. The series captures the distinct mood of Singapore—humid, futuristic, and vividly colorful—serving as a compelling portfolio for architectural firms and travel publications.
